Are you ready for change

I don’t truly believe in a New Year’s Resolution, but resolutions yes, ones that you can make at any time during the year.  But as we have now started into 2020 I am finding that more of you are reflecting and considering the past 10 years and your future 10 years.  There is a positivity and hope that seems to be coming off people’s ideas and thoughts for the 10 years ahead.

2020 in itself just sounds more positive does it not?

Looking back and seeing what changes you have achieved the hardships you have or are overcoming and looking at the growth you have made is good, acknowledgement and recognition on your strength even if at the time you didn’t feel strong, helps build future success.

Success builds success.

Looking ahead to the next 10 years as opposed to ‘just’ the year ahead helps you to shape your future, those who are successful around goals such as finance and health keep their future self in mind.   Don’t just put a cap on your goals of one year, look at what you want to achieve and where you want to be in 10 years’ time.

Don’t be afraid to dream big, write those goals down as so many suggest.  If you want (and I recommend) note these daily as your day to day life changes.   If you are hesitant to write your goals down, feeling uncomfortable, maybe the thought of someone reading them make you feel embarrassed?  That is because since becoming an adult you are no longer encouraged to day dream. You are trained not to have aspirations as you age. The day dreams of the child have shifted to surviving the day to day pressures of an adult.

Allow yourself to dream again.

Some big life changes some of you may be contemplating going into this new decade.

·         A new career

·         Starting a family

·         Health or Wellness Goal

·         Business or success Goals

·         Changing circumstances

·         Changing Personal Habits

·         Getting over self-limiting beliefs or situations

If you get into the habit of writing your goals daily including the big ones, you will start to see a pattern with those goals that are more important to you.  This also helps you move in the direction of them as it keeps those goals at the front of your mind.

You move in the direction of your most prominent thoughts

When it is a big goal or change in circumstances, there are some important questions to ask yourself.  Will you regret inaction?  Are you just running away or stepping forward? Is fear holding you back?

If you are stuck with your life goals, feel stagnant or in limbo, unsure of seeing things clearly or how to implement them? Then talk to people, seek help and let’s work towards our future self a future self that feels proud of where they are and what they have achieved.

As the famous Mark Twain quote says;

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”
